Re: Former Players Thread

I'll never say anything bad about Hack. I agree. And, he will never pay for a drink in a bar that I'm in. His W/L record isn't what you hoped for but his character is more than anyone had any right to ask from a high school senior. He had every reason to drop PSU and go elsewhere and he stuck with ...

Re: Random Thoughts Again

Pretty sweet. Years ago, I witnessed a guy playing with himself in a subway station. I didn't get squat. Damn. He does that and nothing happens. And to think one time the police in Ocean City, NJ threw me off the boardwalk (and threatened me with a fine) because I was walking barefoot on there. I w...

Re: Web-based insurance

I have GEICO for auto insurance and USAA for homeowners. They are both have reasonably priced premiums and I've never really had any bad experiences with either.

Re: Random Thoughts Again

Did you have the impression that, prior to adding North, the NRA was a moderate organization? Not exactly. Ollie just ended the debate. I look at it like this. There was a time the second amendment was needed due to legitimate fears about the the British crown. Now we are marrying into British roya...

Re: Random Thoughts Again

I don't expect miracles from Congress on the issue, yet. I think the tide is shifting but there is still a lot of work to do. Though Congress isn't doing a whole lot since Parkland, some state and local governments have enacted tougher measures. Some banks have stopped or have put restrictions on gu...

Re: Sandusky: final twitches

I just watched the Paterno movie. It really wasn't as bad as some may think it is. I think they did a pretty good job at playing it down the middle. In the end, other than inmate KT2386, the real culprits were Spanier, Curley and Schultz. If the movie is accurate then Paterno was culpable, just not ...

Re: Random Thoughts Again

Sure there are some differences between military and civilian life. But that doesn't mean you can't look at a model that works very well and try and implement some of it. Background checks, the right to take weapons from those who may pose a threat to themselves or others, extensive training on safe...

JJ Watt said he is going pay the funeral expenses for all the Santa Fe victims.

He is quickly becoming one of my favorite human beings on Earth.

Re: Random Thoughts Again

I wished I knew how to copy and paste links from my iPhone. Anyway, if you get a chance read the article online by Michael E. Diamond of NBC News. He perfectly explains how despite the U.S. military has all the guns you can dream of, there are very few mass shootings on military bases. It's not perf...
