Re: 2018 Baseball Season

Dodgers need to win with their ace on the hill. Kershaw will get at least 2 starts this series. If he wins both of them, I think the Dodgers can find 2 mor wins. If he can't, I think it's the Red Sox year - again. I know it's ridiculous to give game 1 that much importance, but I think that the Dodge...

Re: The Ongoing New Financial Era Thread

I was only busting on you for the sake of amusement. If I thought you were really stressed/concerned about it I wouldn't do it. I thought the "bunny slippers" comments made that obvious. As for when to take SS, I'd hold off as long as you can, up to age 67. The longer you wait the more you...

Re: The Ongoing New Financial Era Thread

Finished down 125.98 on the day. Not great but given where it was at 10 AM not awful. Hopefully this is the end of the bleeding and things stabilize. Man, I'm sure glad I'm not working from home in my bunny slippers 3 days a week and counting the hours until retirement. That would be, like, seriousl...

Re: Iowa Thread

I know nothing about the 2018 Iowa team. But, I think Ferentz is a great coach and I've thought for years that no one gets more with less than Kirk Ferentz. He always plays us tough and I still recall the heroics to get the win last year. Iowa just always plays us tough. I think PSU should win this ...

Re: The Ongoing New Financial Era Thread

It's come most of the way back up. It was down over 550 this morning and right now it's under down under 100. That's a "win" as far as I'm concerned.

Re: 2018 Baseball Season

I've mentioned this before, but there is a Mets blog I follow called Amazin' Avenue . And, I've run into some people from this forum posting over there, too (I'm talking to you, 92!). Anyway, this one guy who writes for the blog is doing this bit where he rates the 10 best minor league pitchers and ...

Re: The Ongoing New Financial Era Thread

Hovering around the -475 range all morning. I suppose it could be worse, but I don't want to see that proven.

Re: 2018 NFL Season

Seriously, I don't know where to start. It all just rolls up into "the Giants suck" and leave it at that.

Re: Random Thoughts Again

My wife's student loans range from low 4s to high 6s in terms of percentage. It's a 20 year pay off and I've been over paying. She finished in 2011 and I've knocked out over half of it (some of which was with a big payment when I sold my house in NJ and moved to PA). I was looking at refinancing for...

Re: Indiana Thread

Hamler has been amazing. Every time he catches the ball you expect something big to happen. And, decent percentage of the time it does. If he can stay healthy that kid has a bright future ahead of him. It's not just his speed, which is impressive. It's his skill as well. He seems to have fantastic o...
