Re: Politics

Maybe term limits should be in consideration or having a panel of judges nominate and confirm a justice is the way to go. What is happening here is a shit show. the reason the Justices were set for life was so they would be above the political fray. If they didn't have to try to garner votes, and t...

Re: Politics

Add SCOTUS nominee to teacher and cop as jobs that couldn't pay enough for me to apply. No kidding. Let's say Kavanaugh gets shot down. Who is now putting their hands up to go through this process? One of the things I read was McConnell did not want Kavanaugh to be the nominee - and told Trump that...

Re: Politics

I think the odds that Trump dumps Kavanaugh are close to zero. The only reason he will do it is if he finds out that he doesn't have the votes and he's not getting the votes. And, right now, I don't think that's the case. But, it's only Monday and a lot can happen between now and when Ford testifies...

OSU thread

Since we no longer seem to do a pre-game and in-game thread, just giving this a generic title.

Anyway, OSU this weekend. I predict the two teams combine for 85 points and 1,000 total yards. Beyond that .... don't know.

Re: 2018 Season Predictions

We don't seem to have a season thread so putting this here:

Anyway, we are up to #9 in the AP. Doesn't matter if we don't keep winning.

Re: These are a few more of my favorite peeves

That may all be true, but 18 hours on a plane is 18 hours on a plane. And, that assumes you don't land and have to refuel on your way to Cairo. It was probably closer to 24 hours for New York to Cairo.

Re: 2018 Baseball Season

oh, almost forgot:

HEY LAMA!

DBacks were eliminated from post season contention yesterday, too. That was a serious collapse. Maybe your search for a new team needs to continue.

Re: 2018 Baseball Season

Yesterday the Phillies were eliminated from the wild card. the Phillies actually had a much better year than I expected. They may finish at .500 (78-77 right now) but I would have picked them to win maybe 70 games. They are on the way back, I think. They are at a point where they need to start focus...

Re: These are a few more of my favorite peeves

5 miles a minute? How old is that add? I guess the propellers on the plane are sort of a give-away that it's not a recent add. but, New York to Cairo at 5 miles a minute is no great bargain. That's still over 1,100 minutes. Anyone want to sit on a prop plane for 1,100 minutes? I wonder how much that...

Re: Random Thoughts Again

My wife and I saw Gaffigan do stand-up a couple of years ago. He was hilarious. If you have an opportunity I'd recommend going to see him.
