Re: The Ongoing New Financial Era Thread

Despite having a reasonably heavy beard I use a Braun electric. It struggles to get my neck smooth but it is good enough. Since around Labor Day I've had a goatee and I bought a trimmer at Costco for like $25. So, I trim the goatee with the trimmer and use the razor on everything else. Replacement h...

Re: The Ongoing New Financial Era Thread

I predict that by the time the market opens tomorrow this Brexit vote thing is completely forgotten about. I mean, at that point it will have been over 12 hours ago! Who cares about stuff that happened yesterday.

Re: Random Thoughts Again

So, despite giving it barely any thought at all, I can't come up with a business plan that justifies that stupid Gillette commercial. Best theory I've hears is one my friend came up with - they hired a chick to sell razors and this is what she came up with.

Re: 2018 Baseball OffseasonThread

It's not outrageous but it sometims produces outrageous results. Mookie Betts is one example. Jacob deGrom is another. And, to answer Grower's question as to why this is - it's because baseball is the only sport that really invests in player development with a minor league system. The NFL uses colle...

No other sport has a system where you can draft or sign a kid at age 16, or 18, or 22, and control that ...

Re: Random Thoughts Again

Oh, and the judge offered bail at $5,000,000. I get that he doesn't have the money and is unlikely to post, but how can you give this guy the ability to post bail and get out of jail? He confessed to the police that he did it.

I don't get that.

Re: Random Thoughts Again

I was reading the account earlier of how that animal out in MN who kidnapped Jayme Closs. He apparently gave investigators a lot of details about how he went about this, and how he murdered her parents, including shooting her mother in the head with a shotgun right in front of her. I don't believe i...

Re: 2018 Baseball OffseasonThread

I just looked it up. He came up in 64 and retired in 74. So, you're right about his World Series apprearances. He saw the Yankees lose to the Cardinals in 7 in 64 and never got a sniff of October again. He was pretty much the staff ace of a crappy team. The Archie Manning of baseball. I remember him...
