Re: Random Thoughts Again

Maybe you're not paying them enough. :P We get excellent snow storm service here. But we pay a fortune for it. There's even a tendency to "over do it" for the early storms because the DPW doesn't want to leave any budgeted funds in the coffers in the event of a mild winter. God forbid.

Re: "Duh" too

Remember that story a year or so ago ... Distinctly, because my wife brought it up at dinner. I hadn't heard about it and she thought it was neat. After listening to her explain what happened, we had the following exchange: ME: You know they're probably just running a scam to make a score on GoFund...

Re: 2018 NFL Season

You need to stop comparing yourself to professional athletes. It's pointless. They don't live in the Real World and they don't think and act like normal people.

Re: 2018 NFL Season

I think most football players will spout the "team" rhetoric because that's what sports reporters and fans what to hear. But deep down, they're more like independent contractors. And I'm sure management understands that. I seriously doubt that anyone in Miami said to Danny Amendola: "...

Re: 2018 NFL Season

People take lower paying jobs all the time due to happiness. I have an opportunity to become principal at some point (my salary would increase almost $30,000). I wouldn't do that for all the money in the world because I love my job and being a grunt teacher. You're comparing apples to oranges. When...

Re: 2018 NFL Season

Can you imagine your coworker coming into their job whenever they feel like it? I know this guy at my company who decided he didn't want to commute any more, so now he works from home. LIke he's so damn special. Then, he decided he only wanted to work 3 days a week. What a putz. I hope he trips ove...

Re: 2018 NFL Season

I am an owner, I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole!

If I am an owner, I'm spending most of my time on my yacht, sailing and eating crab cakes. My GM can sign Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch for all I care.

PS - Pass the tartar sauce, please.

Re: 2018 NFL Season

Usually one side caves. A couple of years ago, Eric Berry (DB-Chiefs) said he would walk away before allowing the Chiefs to franchise him for the 2nd year in a row. The Chiefs caved and signed him to a big contract. Most often the player caves.

This time, neither side caved.

Re: 2018 NFL Season

I don't think this is remotely like the Kapernick situation. Bell hasn't brought negative PR to the entire NFL. This has been between him and the Steelers. And Bell didn't "do" anything to the Steelers. The two sides disagreed on his worth and couldn't come to terms on a contract. The Stee...
