Re: Random Thoughts Again

The US is a giant rectangle with it's major population centers located randomly within the rectangle. geographically rail could work regionally (California is kind of a reverse Japan) and on the East Coast rail could be effective between Boston to DC but a national system that would replace air tra...

Re: 2018 Baseball OffseasonThread

The idea that teams that the revenue sharing and TV contracts make crappy teams profitable without even having to care about fielding a winning team is a real problem. I agree. There probably should be a minimum team payroll in baseball. In the unlikely event that a team loses money, then MLB could...

Re: 2018 Baseball OffseasonThread

They talk about the owners proven history of colluding, how the media tends to take the side of ownership, and how the owners are making a lot more money and the players are making less ... A few points: (1) One year isn't a trend. Yes, in 2018 total MLB payroll was down 0.7% from the previous year...

Re: 2018 NFL Season

Re: 2018 NFL Season

I don't think they have given anyone big money outside of Brady Brady doesn't make big money. He doesn't even make Ryan Tannehill money. That's why this rumor is so preposterous. OBJ's contract pays him an average of 18M per. The Patriots are going to acquire OBJ and make him their highest paid pla...

Re: 2018 NFL Season

People were surprised years ago when the Patriots acquired Randy Moss. But they got him under a favorable contract, so they knew they could cut his butt if/when he became a PITA without taking a serious financial or cap-space hit. But there's No Way on God's Green Earth they're going to eat that fak...

Re: 2018 NFL Season

I keep seeing references to a trade of OBJ to the Patriots. Working from my secret man-cave/bunker as I do, I may be out of touch with what's going on out there. Is crack cocaine more widely used by the media than I perceive?

Re: 2018 NFL Season

Perhaps the Mets figured Tebow had sold as many Binghamton Rumble Ponies jerseys as he was going to sell.

---------------------------
Hey, he'll be playing the Pawtucket Red Sox next year. I might drive down to take a look.

Mrs psu_dad: Seriously?
Me: No.
