Re: 2017-18 baseball off season

It's being reported that the contract is front-loaded ... two years for 50M then 3 years for 60M. And he has an opt-out after 2 years. So I suppose if he has two great years, he can try for bigger bucks. Either way is fine. At least they won't be paying him until he's 40. Odd team. They have a large...

Re: Beer and Booze

Re: Beer and Booze

Pilsner Urquell is very good

I'm curious what that cost in PA. I saw it in a local liquor store (green bottle, right?). It wasn't super-expensive, but it was a tad pricey to try without a recommendation.

Re: Random Thoughts Again

Alcohol, particularly involving minors is a very serious problem. According to the CDC, excessive drinking is responsible for more than 4,300 deaths among underage youth each year. And according to a survey they commissioned, 20% of HS students admitted to riding with a driver who had been drinking ...

Re: Beer and Booze

Budweiser has been losing market share steadily for years, but they still sell a shit-ton of beer. I saw an article recently that indicated the 3 most popular beers in the U.S. (in volume sold) are Bud Lite, Coors Lite and Miller Lite. I hadn't realized the lite beer market was THAT strong. I'm not ...

Re: Politics

Nationwide, unauthorized immigrants are clustered in a few occupations, notably farming, fishing and forestry (26 percent of the workforce), building and grounds (17 percent), and construction and mining (14 percent). They comprise 24 percent of all groundskeepers, 23 percent of domestic workers an...

Enforce labor laws preventing the use of illegal labor and make the fines hurt to the point companies will no longer take the risk - to the point if multiple offenses occur pull the operating license. Stop issuing social benefits to illegal aliens and direct it to legal immigrants and native born c...

Re: Politics

Any deal on immigration policy that doesn't include a way to secure the border is a waste of time, because the people sneaking across the border don't give a rat's ass about our immigration policy.

Re: Politics

I don't think it matters much. I think the Republicans can probably take the religious right for granted just as the Democrats do with African Americans. Because neither of those constituencies is likely to switch sides. The only thing I'm certain of is that neither party is worth a bucket of warm s...
