Re: Random Thoughts Again

Michael, thank you for letting us know about your dad. While I never met him in person, I very much enjoyed the discussions he participated in on this forum. I believe he was a good man and we are all better off for having virtually met him. You have my deepest sympathies.

Re: Random Thoughts Again

I appreciate your thoughts, Lama. I wish I had a foolproof answer to fix this. I do not own a gun, but carried a 9mm daily and shotgun and M-16 from time to time while in the service. I think Nat made a comment regarding common sense restrictions on the 1st Amendment but when a parallel is drawn to ...

Re: Random Thoughts Again

I agree completely. Our biggest voice is the one we use at the ballot box. While most of us agree Congress is ineffective and probably corrupt, too many believe that their representatives are not part of the problem. It is high time that we shake things up.

Blue&White wrote: Until people love their children more than they love their guns, this isn't going to change.

This is, quite simply, the single best quote I have read on this issue in a long time!

Re: Random Thoughts Again

I read that the football coach that jumped into the line of fire to shield students was a security guard. I suppose it is possible that they had another guard who was armed. As for the comment about more laws or restrictions not having an impact, the same could be said about border security and a wa...

Re: Penn State Hoops.

Being a sax player, Chicago has always been a favorite of mine and we have seen them many times, once when the wife was 8 months pregnant yet standing on her chair (she is vertically impaired) and the sound guy was more concerned with her than his job. They toured with Earth, Wind and Fire for a few...

Re: The NCAA is a complete joke

I just saw a story about this at OnwardState. I had very similar thoughts good nag through the reasoning. I am at a loss to figure what, exactly, the NCAA exists for. Aside from making money off of the athletes...

Re: Penn State Hoops.

I suppose that's an accurate statement. I assume Tom Scholz retained the name and their set was pretty much the Tom Scholz show. The cat singing lead had little stage presence and the woman on keys would sing the high stuff. I was a big fan when I was a kid and hoped for better but my wife bought th...

Agreed. She opened for Boston last summer. I liked that, after the first few songs, she said, “we are The Blackearts” when talking to the crowd. I thought that was unusually humble. They were far better than Boston, I think.

Re: Penn State Hoops.

Having spent 20 years in Navy music, some of that in rock oriented groups and full blown big bands, I know my limit when it comes to my hearing. The canoe club fits all of us for custom ear plugs that kind of look like the in ear monitors the top acts have, so it wasn’t like I had orange tampons in ...
