Re: Random Thoughts Again

Our tax preparer, a very good one formerly of the IRS, had a software mistake one our return on year where we would have received a double refund, happy days. Until I reviewed it and saw it could not possibly be accurate. I took it back to him and he corrected the mistake. The IRS ALWAYS finds the m...

Re: Other Sports

The Masters is cranking up today. I've been receiving pictures from friends in the business enjoying the warm spring weather there right now. Tiger has everyone excited since he has been playing competitive golf recently. That guy usually plays out of his mind at The Masters. The anticipation of wha...

Re: Random Thoughts Again

I actually figured out what happened. When I did my taxes I listed the $30k of estimated taxes for my wife as being "withheld". But, they were not withheld. But, it says they were on the form. So, as far as the government is concerned, I had $30,000 of withheld taxes more than I actually ...

Re: Random Thoughts Again

Prepare yourself, it will only get "better". Now you have entered my sweet spot - the govt. and business screw up circle where no one can explain how or why a bizarre thing happened but they will get back to you by tomorrow. Three days later you finally get a call and they may or may not h...

Re: Random Thoughts Again

Thanks Guys. You wouldn't think it would be as emotional since we were not there and he was not really our dog but we looked at him as part of the family too. It is amazing just how you become attached to a dog even though you only see him once or twice a year. All the heartfelt condolences are a co...

Re: Random Thoughts Again

Our daughter phoned me this afternoon to tell us they had to put their 10 y o Boxer down. She was crying as she was trying to tell me. Losing a dog is a very personal thing as they easily become a member of the family. Two days ago our soon to be 2 y o grand daughter saw him, "Rocky" pass ...

Re: Politics

"But, I digress. Point is, the states can't just keep taking it in the shorts on revenue they historically collected and expect to just make up the money some other way. The other way is to raise income taxes which is not going to be popular at all." Or the states could economize? Or is th...

Re: Other Sports

I suspect the prima donna NBA types, like other sports types are the reason that the audience is dwindling. I used to watch the Sixers play Boston in the 60's when they were great games. Wilt the Stilt vs Bill Russell! Those were games on both ends of the court. Now its a run and shoot fest with lit...

Re: Random Thoughts Again

Well stated Mad and a great example in Pres. Clinton. He sure did fall into the sweet spot didn't he. And Pres. Bush received the hard work as he loved to say. It's the luck of the draw more than anything else. As noted above, you vote for a man, not a saint. That Christian's, no matter their polit...
