This is what it's come to - I'm pulling for Cleveland.

Still one of my favorite baseball movies, even though it's completely ridiculous.

If you look at lists of the Best Baseball Movies, Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, The Natural and The Bad News Bears are invariably near the top. They're all ridiculous in their own way.

I know I'm in the minority but Bull Durham is the one I totally don't get. A few funny bits, but it's basically a chick-flick disguised as a baseball movie. The Susan Sarandon character makes my hair hurt.

Ever see For Love Of The Game? It's ok but it is absolutely a chick flick dressed up as a baseball movie.

I love Bull Durham. The Sarandon character is over the top ridiculous, but I love the Crash Davis character, as far fetched as he is, and some of the baseball scenes. The mound conference alone makes the movie. There are a few bits like that.

I read something recently about movies that did not age well and The Bad News Bears was one of them. The complaint was flat out racism spewed out by Tanner, Butterworth basically pimping out 12 year old Amanda, the drinking, etc. Of course they remade that movie in 2005 and, while the Tanner character was a little subdued, a lot of the more unsavory bits still remained, so I guess it didn't age that badly.

Image "too high, too high..." might be my most-quoted phrase from any movie. Along with "Juuust a bit outside."

This is why I'll never be a voting member of the Academy Awards. If I were, those four people in that gif and the "Larry" kid from The Big Lebowski would all have Oscars and 90% of the pretentious twerps who currently have Oscars, wouldn't.

My hair is definitely not what hurts when I watch Susan Sarandon on screen.
Yeah, well, that's like your opinion, man.

Really?

I never found her all that attractive. Even when I look at her in Rocky Horror, and she was about 30 in that movie, she doesn't do anything for me.
