I guess Herman's tryout with the Yanks went better than this one:

Both Herman Munster and Mr. Ed tried out for the Dodgers and neither was signed. The Dodgers weren't very forward-thinking back then.

Don't tell Gabe Kapler. No telling who or what will be suiting up for the Phillies next year.

Red is not my color, but If they sign Mr. Ed, I'm ordering a Phillies cap 5 minutes later.

The Red Sox won't sign Mr. Ed. A low cost player who sucks in the field equally at every position is just the kind of utility man the Mets are destined to sign.

Sorry, but we saw him first.

Weren't you watching? He just hit a rope to the 380 mark off of Sandy Koufax.

BTW, I consider the creation of Mr. Ed to be the pinnacle of Western Civilization. It's pretty much been downhill since that show was canceled. Did I ever mention that my great aunt thought he really talked?

Mr. psu_dad: A thousand times.
Me: She totally rocked.

Like I said: a hitter who can't field. At all. He's got "future Met" written all over him.

Well, the Red Sox could use a DH. He's probably cheaper than Stanton.

Top 40 Free Agents

The guy who wrote this, Grant Brisbee, is well known and respected for his baseball acumen, specifically in his understanding of advanced statistics. His opinions are usually based on metrics that he can point to. So, I was surprised that his top prospect is a kid who has never played a MLB game. Ohtani may actually be the next Babe Ruth but perhaps we should let him play a full season in the Majors before we anoint him to Cooperstown.

I came across an article written mid-2017 identifying 'the worst player' on each major league team. It's not worth linking, but what is worth noting - fellow Phillie fans - is how many guys listed as the current worst on other teams' rosters were recent Phillies. No less than four players - Asche, Revere, Bourjos, and AJ Ellis (in addition to our own superstar, Brock Stassi) were other teams' worst, at least the author claims. Testament to how bad this team has been, and hopefully how the bounce off the bottom is in progress.
