Sad News

Postby Carl Spackler » Fri Mar 15, 2019 12:55 am

I don't know it this news has been posted elsewhere but I just learned that a former board member, moderator and friend, AkronLion passed away last Sunday. He and I used to have a great rapport on this board and after moving to Ahia we visited him and his wife in their home north of Akron. Wonderful man, big loss. :(
So I got that going for me...which is nice. It's a cross between Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent and Northern California Sensimilla so you can play 36 holes on it,take it home at night and get stoned to the begesses belt

Like the others, I am saddened to read this and enjoyed Akron here. I am glad you got to know him, Carl. I have not actually met anyone from these discussions but I consider you all friends; to actually meet and develop relationships is very cool. Deepest sympathies from Virginia.

Just wanted to check in as I also got the sad news regarding AkronLion and wanted to make sure other old friends were informed. It's been so long that I wasn't able to check in with my Old username. AkronLion always stopped by my tailgate whenever he was in the area. Hard to believe it's been 14 years ago that he made his first stop. Hope all here are well. If any of you are going to the Blue White Game, feel free to PM me, as I will be having a toast to the memory of AkronLion...a good man.

Carl was good enough to PM me details on services. I honestly wasn't sure what to do with them, but if anyone wants them let me know.
