I love the soap opera of the draft!! The Giants will be starting with Eli for the most part but the Giants have picks 6 and 17. There is tons of drama as rumors are swirling that Oakland or the Deadskins are looking to get Haskins. Haskins went to school in Washington alongside of Daniel Snyder's kid (Interesting). Oakland has a ton of picks! The Giants CLEARLY need to draft or get a QB soon. Maybe they trade the 6th pick to Oakland to get Carr and then get some more draft picks. The Giants need a ton of good players and the draft is where you can find them. Cleveland is starting to reap those benefits because they finally got a guy who knows how to draft players

I think the NFL is starting to turn the page when it comes to how teams are put together. Teams want guys to play right away because they are dirt cheap compared to veterans.

Will anyone care if they do as we all know the Cardinals are going to suck regardless?

The Cardinals are one of the two remaining teams that were in the NFL when it was founded in 1920. They were the Chicago Cardinals then. In nearly 100 years, they've made the post-season 11 times. How sad is that?

I did not realize there were only 2 founding teams left. I just looked it up and the two teams are the Bears, called the Decatur Staleys back in the day, and the Cardinals. What was really interesting, to me at least, is the oldest NFL team are the Packers are older than the league itself (formed in 1919) and the oldest team to stay in one location. But, Wikipedia doesn't say they are the oldest team. Wasn't sure who was.

I also re-read the story of Tim Marra buying the Giants franchise for $500. I checked an inflation calculator just now and that $500 in 1925 is equal to $7,262.91 today. can you imagine buying an NFL franchise for just over $7k?

Billy Sullivan was just a small-time Boston-area businessman when he bought a charter franchise in the newly-founded AFL for 25-large in 1960. And he still needed 9 partners to swing that much. He had previously tried to get an NFL franchise and they basically told him to stop bothering them.

Times have changed somewhat.

That reminds me of another Billy: Bill Mumphrey.

You see, dad, Billy was a simple country boy. You might say a cockeyed optomist , who got himself mixed up in the hight stakes game of world diplomacy and international intrigue.

I think you've read one too many Billy Mumphrey stories.

So, the Cardinals don't trade Rosen but do draft Murray. Which means they now need to trade Rosen after showing their hand and diminishing their leverage.

It took a lot of years and a lot of hard work, but I think the Browns may just have relinquished the title of worst run NFL franchise.

Completely disagree on trading Rosen at the moment. At this point I would hold on to Rosen and see if a team has a injury this offseason. The Eagles got the Viking round 1 pick for Bradford back in 2017 when Bridgewater devastated his knee. The Eagles picked up Derek Barnett in that draft. Barnett got hurt this year but he was instrumental in their run to the Superbowl. I would hold on to Rosen a bit and who knows what will happen to Murray. He could be a complete bust

Bradford had some level of success in the NFL. Rosen is too inexperienced to be valuable to a team that is willing to make a big trade for a QB. And, while Murray could be a bust, so could Rosen. His value was at its peak up until the Cardinals drafted Murray.

We will disagree on Rosen. I don't know about Rosen's work ethic and have no clue on his attitude, but Bradford was kind of a bust for the most part. The Eagles had to trade him when they were offered a 1st round pick. I wonder if the patriots would trade their 32nd pick for Rosen (and maybe more). Rosen had no one last year and he would have gone number 1 this year too. Only time will tell.

Enjoy the Duke QB!
