Keillor doing that is abominable. It is so predictable.

Not unlike the MSU sex scandal with the trainer. The MSU president was a major PSU detractor six years ago knowing that her own school had an ongoing problem of like manner. How could she do that? Deflection apparently so watch who jumps on current pervs. to see the new list next week.

I hope anyone doing anything untoward to another helpless victim is "exposed" to the full scrutiny of us all and prosecuted fully to achieve justice for the victims. Their profession is immaterial to me, just find them all and expose them to the public and the justice system.

I think it depends on who you are and who the woman in front of you is - I'm guessing that move worked for say ..... Mick Jagger with groupies ....... Leonardo DiCaprio with fans ........ and Wilt Chamberlain with a girl in every NBA city. Not an advisable move if you're an anonymous corporate pawn and the girl is a co-worker.
My guess is these guys used their money / fame / influence to skip the flirting and foreplay plenty of times with success and with willing women who thought they were either going to wind up dating said powerful / famous guy or get some favor they were seeking (promotion, movie role, money).

Rev an engine .... if it's a Porshe or a Mercedes - I've seen girls jump in luxury cars, on motorcycles or on boats with relative strangers. I've seen girls flock to guys flashing cash. I've seen girls at parties flock to guys for drugs. All the poor decisions that boobs cause guys to do I've seen power / fame / money make women make those same dumb decisions. I'm sure many of the complaints being lodged are legit - I'm also betting there is a more than a smidge of women who got promised something (relationship / promotion / fame) and didn't get it who are exacting some revenge.

Makes Charlie Sheen and his game plan of hookers and pornstars seem visionary.

OK, moving away from famous clowns and their wayward junk...

- Qatar is running out of sand suitable for construction of 2022 FIFA facilities. Ponder that for a moment.

- It's pretty cool that the Rockefeller Plaza Christmas tree came from State College.

That's all. Back to the regularly scheduled Stupid Little Man discussions.

Charlie always said he didn't pay them for sex. He paid them to leave.

Seems reasonable.

This comment struck me as I just read something regarding congressman Conyers now that Pelosi has stated that he should resign. Granted, it was in the comments section below a story, so the credibility is a little suspect. Anyway, some Conyer supporter (I assume) said that the woman who came forward last week violated the non-disclosure terms of her settlement and should have to give the money back. I get that a harassment settlement is vastly different than a groupie looking to bag a superstar (and maybe a few things that penicillin might cure), but the idea of all of this is mind numbing. I suppose Jerry's post about Qatar not having enough sand surpasses this on some scale or another, I simply can't comprehend much of what is going on anymore; maybe I am officially old...

While I have no reason to know, I do believe that most of the recent harassment claims are more or less true. Add,while I think that Franken might be getting set up by someone like Bannon or Stone, the rest of them are dirtbags as far as I can tell. Except maybe Keillor, I haven't decided on that one yet... Something doesn't seem right there, either. But I though that of Lauer yesterday.

I remember some year back girls I knew talking about celebrity crushes and believe it not Matt Lauer had surprisingly high poll numbers (surprising to me at least but then again I never watched his show). I suspect his early affairs were entirely consensual. As he hooked up time and again he likely got full of himself and went from hooking up with girls who showed interest and started believing every girl was interested and he didn't have to bother being polite before or after and found himself where he's at Today.

And unless Bannon phoyoshopped that picture or told Franken - "no dude she's just saying that she really wants to kiss you" - he done it.

The picture that came out looks to me like it was staged and I am not sure he is really touching her. Hell, it looks like he isn't touching he Kevlar vest, but that isn't the point. I heard that she is now a conservative talk show host for some regional market (I really don't know where and don't feel like looking it up). The USO event took place before he ran for senate, and she didn't say anything when he was a candidate. Now that sexual impropriety is big news, and the president and GOP need a win to not get skunked in the first year, I can easily see this being politically motivated and orchestrated.

Not that I am making light of sexual harassment, because I am not.

As near as I can tell, the sexual revolution is nearly over and we are all going to need consent forms and pens to have safe consensual sex anymore. Now I'm joking. Kind of...

Let me get this straight - Conyers says these were not settlement payments for a sexual harassment claim but merely severance agreements. And, he's now supposed to argue this woman should pay back the severance for violating the terms of the NDA by talking about the thing he insists he never did and did not pay for?

Did I get that right?

Someone on the interwebs didn't really think that position through.

B&W - are you taking into account, as a career politician, Conyers has two faces he can talk out of and thus having inconsistent positions it not necessarily contradictory in the traditional sense you seem to be applying.

That was my impression of what I read. Granted, we all know that some idiots hiding behind their computer screens will say anything to make a point. It seemed pretty ignorant to me, but there is someone who believes this woman didn’t have a right to come forward against the congressman like she did. Like I said, it is kind numbing.
