I have no experience with opiates or MJ, medically or otherwise. My brother in law, however, has. He was pretty well introduced to weed as a teen. About 15 years ago, he lost control of his truck (weather, not individual impairment) and broke his back I several places when he was thrown from it. He is lucky to be alive, but has pain issues. He was close to, if not actually, dependent on meds for pain but the intestinal issues they caused were almost as bad. He used MJ as self prescribed pain medication when he realized the pills were worse for him and more addictive. I have no idea if his situation is normal or not, but he manages to live a productive life at this point. I point that out because the initial argument against MJ (Reefer Madness, anyone?) was that it ruled your life, which I don’t think is accurate.

We are looking for some land to buy in central Pa. We want to build a cabin on the site. I have no clue if any of you know anyone who wants to sell a small parcel or a large parcel of land. We spent the weekend near Lewisburg off the grid and it was much needed. I listened to the PSU game on the radio and then chopped wood for the wood stove. I snuggled in with some Makers Mark and Acoustic Pearl Jam last night. BTW, this is not a Russian bot trolling this website so don't delete Bdub

I have to admit this was well played by both Dan Crenshaw and Pete Davidson. They acted like actual adults. Now if only the rest of the country would follow suit.

Can someone on the news please call it as it is?

PENNDOT sucks.

So sick of hearing how great they do. Took me 3.5 hours to drive home. No salt on the roads. No plows in sight.

WTF are we paying them to do?????

Maybe you're not paying them enough. :P

We get excellent snow storm service here. But we pay a fortune for it. There's even a tendency to "over do it" for the early storms because the DPW doesn't want to leave any budgeted funds in the coffers in the event of a mild winter. God forbid.

I don't know what the issue is to be honest with you.

It boggles my mind. Last time I checked a map the state of Pennsylvania is located in the northeast part of the country. It snows in the northeast. How they routinely have these issues of unpreparedness year after year is simply unbelievable.

I'm in Charlotte this week and, due to airline prices, had to fly out of Newark. I flew down with 2 colleagues and we were supposed to fly back last night. At 8 AM yesterday morning we started to debate if we should rebook for this morning.

One colleague said we should risk it. I said do what you want but I'm rebooking for tomorrow (today). My argument was if we didn't and our flight was canceled given it's a holiday weekend we would not have our choice of flights back. And we would be unlikely to find a hotel. And, even if we did land in Newark I wasn't driving 75 miles in ice. So everyone agreed.

I called Amex on behalf or all of us and got us on the 9:50 AM flight (sitting on it now). They groused I should have gotten the 730. I said I was concerned Newark would still be stacked up and that flight would be lucky to leave. It actually just left 10 minutes ago.

Happiness is the smugness that comes with vindication and knowing, absolutely, you were correct.

2 random thoughts.

Random thought 1: I can't believe the Rolling Stones are going on tour again.

Random thought 2: after paying $150 to see The Who a few years ago, and coming to the realization to see a bunch of guys in their 70s, and who sounded like a bunch of guys in their 70s, there is no way I am seeing the Stones. Jagger is 75 years old. His voice has to be shot. After The Who concert I felt like I would have been fine if I had last seen them back in the late 80s vs. the 50 anniversary tour. No way I am making that mistake again.

I prefer to remember them as they were.

Tickets for the Gillette Stadium concert aren't available to the general public until Friday. Only official fan club members can buy tickets now. Just for grins, I went on TicketMaster and pretended to be a fan club member looking for tickets. I couldn't actually buy them because I didn't have a code to enter, but I got as far as a page that showed the prices.

Tickets on the "floor" right in front of the stage were $1500*. Tickets on the field level of the grandstands were going for a wide range of prices ($200-$700) depending on how close/far they were to/from the stage. The cheap seats, way up in the third level of the stands, were $100.
