Well, here's a pleasant thought. An actual member of Congress (Steve King, R - Iowa) posted a meme about another U.S. civil war. The irony of this, as someone pointed out, he must not have realized his state was on the "losing" side in this war.

Finally, a true heartwarming story.

Best wishes to this kid.

Going to Key West every St. Pat's to hang out with Shore? Sounds like a good thing to me. Normally it coincides with first week of March Madness and the Wrestling Finals. It's a fun time.

Lots of stuff to deal with since I last posted. Just a word to those of you who have children, if you truly love them, get your affairs in order so they don't have a nightmare to deal with after you're gone or incapacitated.
Still a PSU season ticket holder, but this most likely will be my last year. The latest traffic flow decision is probably the straw that has this season as my Farewell. As a septogenarian, I'm learning life is too short to let others piss you off with their stupidity. Plus the continued fee increases with no tax benefit add to the probable decision. Besides, it's not the same anymore...slowly evolving into a more Professional sports feel.
At least for now I'm in good health, but Mr. OL has had setbacks. Thanks for asking.
Still see OWCHippy, Ed001and PSURO when I come East. Great to see this place is still going.

Great to see this place is still going.

Barely, but the few stragglers hold on.

Sorry to hear you are giving up going to games. We've not always agreed on things when it came to PSU football, but you were always a fan and it was apparent how big a part of your life being a fan was. When they lose someone like you who make such a big investment and such a big commitment - including constant cross country flights - that's when you know something isn't working anymore.

I doubt anyone in charge will bat an eye, but it's a shame. They spend so much time generating dollars they have completely forgotten how to generate loyal fans - people who show up when the team isn't winning and who cheer just to cheer. It's been a few years since I've been up to PSU but I've seen them play elsewhere near me (Temple and Rutgers) and you are not kidding about it being closer to a pro team experience. And, that's at a Temple or Rutgers game. I imagine it's even worse at SC.

Finally, sorry to hear Mr. OL has had setbacks. I still remember the one time I met him - maybe 10 years ago - at your tailgate and he was an absolute gentleman. I hope his setbacks are not too severe.

As for prepping for my kids - screw them. That's what they get for all the stress the cause me! :D
