Yu Darvish to the Cubs, 6 years/$126M. Given some of the big pitching contracts the past few years that's not obscene. As long as he doesn't face the Astros - and can stay healthy - that should be ok for the Cubs. The big question there is "healthy". If he can't, well, that's $21M/year pissed away.

Pitchers and catchers start rolling in today for several team, including the Mets. My long personal nightmare is over!!!!

And, given that that the Mets have made some moves this offseason, I'm not somewhat excited about the season. I'd like them to add one more arm for the rotation but they did make some moves.

Sorry to bust your bubble Bdub, but the Mets are a bunch of wimps until I see otherwise. They don't play when they have a booboo. Someone needs to get in there to toughen up the clubhouse. Maybe Lenny "Nails" Dykstra could help. I am sure he needs some money :D

I'm just waiting for the regular season thread in which grower opens it with "Phillies in the WS"
Wendall : That's very linear Sheriff
Ed Tom : Age will flatten a man Wendall

Dykstra....

Dykstra...

Oh, I remember him. He's the guy who could never get past an injury after 1993 and was forced to retire after being a part time player for 3 years, and went on to commit all kinds of fraud. THAT'S the guy you think should be brought in to show how to be tough?

No thanks.

Plus, I don't think the Mets would let him into the parking lot, much less on the field. I don't think there is any love lost between Lenny and ... well, probably most of humanity. He turned into the Charlie Sheen of the baseball world, unfortunately. I agree he could sure use the money, though.

He was all roided up and played with reckless abandonment. The Mets need that

I'm pretty confident the LAST thing the Mets need is a plan that relies on someone who is "all roused up".

What they do need is some better luck, injury-wise. They had an incredible run last year with injuries. The law of averages makes me think the Mets HAVE to be healthier this year but who knows. Maybe grower is right and they are a team of wimps.

I just hope the trains are running on time for opening day. B&W's buddy had a cow last year.

I think following that guy around could be an awesome reality show.

I could totally see that guy dressed in Jets gear in the Fall, but he's actually a Dolphins fan for some reason.
