Anyone see the news on the Amtrak crash out in Washington state? I just saw the news on it now. Looks like a total horror show. Multiple fatalities, at least 77 alive and injured and taken to local hospitals, and the train is hanging off the tracks over a highway. I saw it was the maiden voyage of that line. And it seems when it jumped the track the train crashed into vehicles, including a bus.

Sounds like the situation is absolutely awful.

SIL works on Amtrak tracks in PA/MD/NJ/DE region. Glad he isn't working in that area. Train crashes are horrific and Amtrak crashes are generally worse due to the speed the attain prior to crashing.

Just read that the NTSB says the Amtrak train was going around 80 mph entering a 30 mph curve. Physics, as always, cannot be disobeyed.

Jerry, I heard he was speeding but not the detail you posted. You are right, the laws of physics can't be over ruled. Except back in 2010 when the president suspended the law of gravity with an executive order. It didn't work like most of......................... ;)
