I never heard of Wilbur Ross until now. After reading this though, the only thing I can say is he is one of the biggest assholes in the history of the world.

You need to go look up Charles Munger. He makes Wilbur Ross look sweet and cuddly.

Flights in New York metro and Florida are now being held up due to a lack of staff working the control towers. It's not a full suspension of flights, but they are slowing things down due to a lack of staff and increased safety concerns.

Think anyone is going to blink any time soon?

Apparently the flight impact is up and down the eastern seaboard now. And, it's bound to spread across the country because flights inbound and outbound to those locations are going to be impacted. There will definetely be a ripple.

Compromise deal to get the government opened for 3 weeks has been reached. Hopefully it includes paying federal employees back-pay. And, hopefully they figure this thing out and we don't see it close again in 3 weeks and a day.

The wall is dead.

I doubt this is over. What I do think is, hopefully, Trump isn't going to hold the paychecks of federal employees hostage again. But, the debate and fight about this wall isn't over yet. He's going to try to appropriate federal money some other way to do it. Bank on that.

I don't understand why this is even an issue. I thought Mexico was paying for the wall and it wasn't costing US tax payers a single penny. So..... why all the hubbub?

Isn't it ironic some of the government employees who suffered the most from the shutdown were TSA agents and the Coast Guard? You know, some of the very people who are charged with providing border and other security for the country?????

The whole thing is unbelievable.

I am fairly certain that, when there is no deal that includes a wall (he is now using the word barrier) then he will go with the emergency order. But, I don’t see how something can be discussed for so long without action suddenly becomes a national emergency. I expect it gets tied up in the court sytfor a while.

I think this is accurate.

He'll declare an "emergency" to get wall funds. Lawsuits will begin. DJT will call it a day. And it'll ultimately be tied up in court forever and a weekend.

I don't think they'll shut down the government again.
