PS That Megget story was very heartwarming. Good grief.

Before we moved to PA, my wife had the same gynecologist from the time she was a teenager until we moved, so close to 30 years. He was an OBGYN for a long time (he had to give up being an OB due to insurance costs) and he delivered my first son. Anyway, he has a daughter who actually dated Dave Megget when he was first with the Giants and before he was a star. And, this guy says he never, ever liked him (by the time I met the doctor it was after the whole thing in Toronto had become public so who knows how that colored his view and his memory). I thought a likely explanation was he wasn't happy that his Jewish daughter was dating a black man (and I suspect there was some element of that) but he always denied that. He says it was because Megget was not very nice and he always felt his charm was fake and he worried about how he treated his daughter. At least that's what he told me when we talked about it, which was prior to most of the incidents in that article having happened (late 2000 to early 2001 when my wife was expecting our oldest). I wonder if he knows about all this. My wife hasn't talked to him in years and he may be retired by now. I bet he would appreciated me tracking him down and sending him that article ... not.

Judging from that article, you could have a pretty good OBGYN practice just delivering Megget's children.

My wife's OBGYN also told us he was getting out of the OB business when we were having our second. We weren't planning on a third, so it didn't impact us. He and his partner had a private practice and he said the malpractice insurance was crushing them. I guess everyone wants a perfect baby, or else.

Giants were making me nervous in a close one against the Cowboys, but the defense blew it open late in the game and helped nail down the loss and preserve the draft spot.

Phew!

Eagles win, but it appears Wentz tore his ACL.

F word. Go flippin' figure.

That does suck. I want the Eagles to lose, but not like that. I assume he's done for the year.

That's the nature of the NFL. It isn't enough to be good. You have to be lucky, also. Every team is one or two key injuries away from having their season abruptly ended.

Pretty much. They key is being healthy for that last run in December and then through the playoffs. If you are .500 through Thanksgiving but healthy those last 5 weeks, you've got a good shot. The Giants won 2 Super Bowls with that formula.

BDub, do you, per chance, happen to remember who the Giants beat in those last two superbowl titles? I feel like it was the same team. Maybe a northern team? I just can't remember. I feel like they have a coach/QB/fanbase that everyone else loathes. Man, I'm wracking my brain but I just can't think of who that was.

Well, let's see. It wasn't the Steelers. Or the Colts. Or the Chargers. Who would it have been?

Hold onto those memories. It's probably all you'll have for a while.

Mem-ries,
Like the corners of my mind
Misty water-colored memories
Of the way we were
