I can't believe what they're paying Trey Flowers. He's a very good DE. He's not Deacon Friggin Jones. That said, he's still young. If he improves, maybe they'll look like geniuses. If he doesn't, they'll look like imbeciles.

I'll believe this when I see it. I think they won 1 playoff game with, arguably, the greatest RB of all time.

The Lions do sometimes play in January. For one week, at least. It's amazing but they have exactly one post season win in the Superbowl era. One. Man, that's demoralizing. Even the Bengals and Browns have more than that.

And speaking of Cleveland....

..... the Giants just traded OBJ to Cleveland.

So I guess they're tanking in 2019? Maybe they don't like the field of QBs in this year's draft.

That is certainly my take on this. It's tough to read this as anything but a 2019 tank. And, from what I've read, they do not like the QBs coming out but they do like some of what is coming out next year. I also keep reading that they may be able to get Rosen from AZ for a 2nd round pick. I think if you can do that, you do it. I have no idea if the kid will make it as an NFL starter or not - I think all drafted QBs are a crap shoot - but if they can get him for the 2nd round pick they just picked up from Cleveland, I think you have to do it and see what he looks like. We'll see.

I think they are going to work on the offensive line with the first pick. They really need help up front. And, as they proved last year, with their current protection and QB, OBJ or no OBJ they are going to tank.

All things considered, I'm ok with this. They traded a headcase and a clubhouse cancer - albeit oen of the best WRs in the game - for a solid saftey (which they need) and some good draft pick positions. They were unlikely to be competitive in 2019 so why not do this? Makes a lot of sense to me.

Le'Veon Bell signing with Jets. 4 years, $52.5M + incentives that can take it to $61M. $35M guaranteed.

I guess the Jets and Raiders ownership don't think like owners.

That's one of the bizarre things about the NFL. The dysfunctional teams set the market value for players.

I read yesterday that the Giants were considering drafting a QB to help bring Eli along. I suppose it was a satire site, but there is truth in humor...
