Not so fast although I believe its a done deal nothing has been finalized. They're about to make a gigantic offer to Tom Herman and may end up bidding against TxAM for his services.

If Herman leaves Houston it won't be because of money. That's what a billionaire donor at Houston had to say. Would be pretty interesting if he stays put with a fat new contract.

Several months ago, through a series of weird coincidences, my son found himself sitting next to the U of Houston's President, a brilliant lady born in India, at a dinner party. Searching for what little common ground they could chat about, he asked her about the football coach's situation. She told him how strange it seemed, finding herself in the midst of an issue (the future of Tom Herman) that she least expected to be important when embarking on a career as a college administrator. He noted how gracious and funny she was, marveling at the role bigtime athletics plays in American higher education.

I guess that's how I'd feel if unknowingly thrust into the world of big-time Indian cricket.

Reports are former PSU LB and current Temple coach Matt Rhule has been hired to take over @ Baylor not sure this is a good fit with all that's gone down.

Phew, that's good news! I wouldn't mind us facing Rhule in the playoffs, but not with Temple again. How he turned this year's team into a conf champ with all the seniors they lost last year is a bloody miracle. Good luck and good bye, Coach Rhule!

Apparently Matt did not bother to check what happened when his predecessor left Temple to go to a higher profile program about to be slapped with sanctions.

No kidding. Why? I'd think there were better oppy's available this year for him.
A good team has to have players capable of making plays...oh, wait - we're so there!

Guess he figures he's the next CJF and not the next Al Golden.

Expecting to be the next Al Golden is like expecting the Spanish Inquisition. Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.

I think he was about as hot as he was going to get knowing most of his offense leaves this year along with key defensive contributors so he struck while the iron was at it's hottest, he also apparently was in the running for the Oregon job. Look at Memphis last year, Houston and USF this year this is the steppingstone to power 5 jobs now.
