I'm assuming you are on a cable system or Direct TV? I heard the sports package is good with Direct but also heard the same disclaimer .....Due to contractual agreements with MLB we can only show the MLB broadcast in this region/area.

I have Verizon. The only games blocked out are Phillies games, but I can get those on local channels.

We live in the Cleveland market where they block out all the games in an effort to show respect to the families of the players and coaches. NOW the buckeyes, that is a far different matter.

Hi all

So, the good news is the amount of spam we get hit with has really trickled down to a point where it's not that big a deal. that bad news is that we are still getting hit with the odd spam thread/post and people need to be careful not to click links.

I'll get to all the spam eventually. But, in the interim until I get to, can you all [cough]psu_dad[/cough] please not respond to spammers in threads that are clearly spam? It's easier on me if I can just delete the one thread in the forum. Otherwise, I have to keep going back in to zap it.

Thanks.

I didn't realize that was spam.

Mrs psu_dad: You can't be serious.
Me: That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

My father developed a taste for Spam in WW2. I didn't have it often as a kid, but we always had a can or two of it in the house. It was used for the occasional Spam & eggs breakfast or a grilled Spam & cheese sammich. Not great, but not as bad as the jokes suggest.

The fat and sodium content was off the charts, but people didn't concern themselves with that back then. If my son (the Health Nazi) saw me eating Spam today, he'd have a cow. Maybe two cows.

dad, with two cows you can develop a herd and have burgers galore! With cheese & bacon!! Show that to the alleged health nut (btw, we also have a son on the health kick, live forever kick and Cross Fit to top it off).

"My father developed a taste for Spam in WW2."

As did my father. He loved the stuff, and I remember my mother actually making....or heating... spam for dinner. I hated it...thought it had the same taste and consistency of wet cardboard and refused to eat it. The conversation usually went something like this:

Little Mad: I'm not eating it. I hate it. I'd rather starve to death.
Mom: Don't say that. Don't you know there are children starving to death in India. You should be ashamed.
LM: Well, I don't care. They can have my spam.
Dad: Son, when I was your age....that was during the Great Depression.....we didn't have food. Eat!
LM (arms folded across his chest): You never ate during the depression?
Dad: Never mind. Just eat!
Mom: That's right, you heard your father. You're not leaving the table until you clean every bite of food off your plate.

These pleasant memories are brought to you by Spam, the mystery meat. Still won't touch the stuff.

And for God's sake, don't even mention scrapple.
Yeah, well...you know...that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

Why do spammers always hit the recruiting forum? what is it about that forum that attracts these people? Sometimes the other areas get hit too but it's always the recruiting? Maybe they don't fully appreciate what it is we are recruiting in that forum.

This last one was the best though. It was a link for "lesbian granny porn". I have to admit, I was tempted to let that one stay up in case any of you were curious. :D
