2019 Recruiting Thread
Re: 2019 Recruiting Thread
My nephew (he pretty much lives with us) is graduating in 3.5 years. He took a few courses in the summer and over winter break. He also completed an internship during the summer which added a few more credits to his total

Long term, the transfer rule may be challenged, although historically, the transfer/sit out rule was in place to eliminate "barnstorming" by talented players.
Precedent will be set if Fields gets to play at OSU this year. I hope the NCAA knows what it might open up if Fields plays. Any player could say that another person at the school called them names and that made them transfer.
Re: 2019 Recruiting Thread
Will the precedent interfere with NCAA making $? Will they lose any power?
Re: 2019 Recruiting Thread
Didn’t want to start a new thread but PSU picked up 3 commits yesterday. Two from the class of 2020 and one from the class of 2021. Long way to go for class of 2021 but the kid may be the top WR in the class.

Re: 2019 Recruiting Thread
Daequan Hardy committed yesterday. 2*/3* CB. PSU was his only major offer and it went out late. This schollie became available after the spate of unexpected departures I believe. Apparently he is super fast and the staff has liked him for a while but just didnt have room for him until recently.
Today is also NSD. PSU is expected to land a WR today and possibly flip Nick Cross from MD, an elite player. currently committed to FSU. That would be a huge coup. Regardless of what happens, JF and co. have put together another great class and are flying into 2020, which could be a historically good class for PSU.

Re: 2019 Recruiting Thread
Hardy is a strange case as he's the Pennsylvania class 5A player of the year in the state, but he's only 160 pounds. Hopefully he can put on some weight, because apparently the kid can play.
Sounds like Nick Cross is going to come down to the wire as mom apparently has put the kibosh on going to FSU due to her academic concerns. If that's the case, not sure why you let him commit in the first place, but not my place to say. He's either going to PSU (his parents choice all along) or Maryland.

3* WR TJ Jones committed as expected. Very nice offer sheet. Another get for PSU out of Florida

Re: 2019 Recruiting Thread
Nick Cross' commitment is still up in the air as of now. Wille Taggart sent out a tweet saying something about positive news coming - not sure if that has to do with Cross.
Maryland thinks they have a shot at Cross also.

Re: 2019 Recruiting Thread
Apparently Cross is not going to sign today. Needs more time. From what I read, he wants to go to FSU, his dad wants him to come to PSU and his old high-school coach is now at Maryland. And with all the indecision, he thought it best to wait a while longer which is a smart move.
The other folks in play for PSU today signed elsewhere (Sorrells to SC and Nester to VT) so I think we are done for today!

Nick Cross to Maryland. Ew.
Officially closes the book on 2019. Solid class in a somewhat unspectacular talent year for the region.
2020 could be huge. Here's hoping to meaningful success on the field to propel us to the next level.
