I really don't give a rat's ass about preseason rankings but really, 6th seems about right. I've seen 8 in some other polls. I mean really, given what we know right now, name 6-8 teams that you think are better than PSU. I can't think of that many off the top of my head. The good thing about a preseason ranking is that IF PSU does have a very successful season it puts them in a much better position with the playoff committee. But that's down the road. I'm old school, I'm still nervous about Akron. I never go into a game thinking it's an automatic win. It's my own personal superstition.

I see that they are offering 20% off concession sales for 45 minutes after the gates open. I'm guessing they REALLY want to see people get to their seats quicker and not have the holes you see on TV right before kickoff. I will be there cheering loudly for all those who can't make it.

By the way 48-17 final. We don't come out flat, but not as well as hoped and get to see a lot of backups in the 4th quarter.

Shore is right!

That's the attitude that wins games. You take them one at a time, period! This team played that way last year and I damn sure think they are going to this year as well.
Akron is a team that is a lot better than their record last year reflects. they were riddled with injuries - not to say that they are PSU's caliber, but you can't take them lightly, you don't take anyone lightly.

As I stated before, I like being the underdog, however, we are on everyone's radar. By the time tOSU rolls around, we may only be the underdog on paper...and I can take that!

I think we should finally have the year where our EASY wins should be easy! This should be an easy win. I understand that shiza happens and sometimes a team gets a scare, but it shouldn't happen Saturday.

I cannot wait to see Allen crush people on defense this weekend! Barkley should run for 500 yards in this game. He won't play the whole game so I say 185 yards. There is no reason we should show any of our passing game in this game (except the deep ball). Run the ball down their throats and stay with it.

Good guys- 45 and we get to play multiple players early so the score stay lower
bad guys- 10

I think this is the first opening game since the 2011 Indiana State game, Joe's last opener, the I expected a blowout to start the season. There has been so much uncertainty since then. And we've faced some actual opponents as well. I'd rather have more openers against teams like UCF, even if we have to go back to Ireland, as those are more exciting. But, this game should be well in hand by the half.

I think the only reason Barkley doesn't run for over 200 is he gets pulled. I bet McSorely plays 3 full quarters so he can shake the rust off, and ends with good numbers.

PSU - 45
Akron - 17

Lets be real here. Penn State certainly will make note of the fact that our top receiver will not be playing. I'd prefer that they don't know that.
