As much bitching as we've done through 4 games PSU has scored 45, 51, 63 and 63 points. Has that ever happened before to start a season?

Yeah, definitely time for bed. Nice INT.
If at first you don't succeed, give up. There is no hope for you.

maybe the time has something to do with sloppy play - it is late.

Scored on every possession second half? so far

Still, I'm very worried about next week's matchup. Offense gets shut down a bit more, defense pressed harder...

35 - 0 in the 4th. 42 unanswered points.

Yeah, this game kind of reminds me of the 2016 Purdue game.

Road game, possible trap game, first half struggles, I think Purdue even lead at one point late in the first half/early second half. However, once Penn State turned on the afterburners it was lights out for Purdue.
41-33.

Yes but it was the 1998 basketball team.

I think this game illustrates the impact of TOs for a team that is young, talented but not seasoned / dominant. In the first half you had three plays:

Holland fumble likely took 7 off the board
Scott not covering fumble allowed Illinois 7
INT before half gave Illinois 3

So PSU lost the first half TO battle 3-0 and instead of going into the locker up 28-7 they were locked in a tight 21-17 score. Second half PSU grabs two INTs and salts game away.

I would say PSU needs to win TO margin to beat UW, OSU
They need to be even / +1 in UM / MSU
If they are -2 or 3 against Iowa they can lose and be in trouble against an IU or MD

The D is young and won't dominate - so they have to minimize penalties and create TOs to reduce possessions for opposing team.

So, I was all ready to watch the game Friday night - just had a nice Italian hoagie, some chips and a cold drink while sitting in my recliner....figured just watch some pre-game, and then I can watch the game. Looked at the clock on the phone and it was 8:07 PM EST.

Next thing I know it's 12:29 PM EST, and 1:39 left in the game, and PSU up 63-24. I missed the entire game. My excuse is that I have been getting up at 430 for a couple of projects that I have to travel at least 1 1/2 hours in the car and be there before the contractors arrived at 7 AM. Then back in the office for paperwork. So, I was exhausted.

I figured "good, a blow out". Looked at my right hand and the cold drink was still in it. Didn't spill a drop. Went back to sleep (after watching a little USC-Wazzu).

Wake up the next morning and watch the highlights on YouTube, and see that PSU was actually losing for a period in the game (short while). Read some posts online, including this thread, and realize that there was a lot of drama I missed. I am thinking that sleeping through games is the key to Penn State's success. I slept through the entire last drive of last year's Iowa win.
