Didn't see this thread, so thought I would start it.
He said he has brain cysts, and I would imagine his health is his #1 issue.
Curious how OSU fares with him gone. He has a 90% winning percentage. I, for one, won't shed a tear with his departure. And I still want the Huskies to destroy the Bucks in Pasadena.

Re: Urban Meyer retiring
Oh me too. I don't want him to go out with a Rose Bowl victory. But honestly, I don't see the Huskies stopping the Bucks either.
Re: Urban Meyer retiring
Urbs retires, Haskins and a few of the WR/RB go pro, Bosa is already gone, and a couple more defensive players go....next year could be PSU's year to win in the Shoe.
PSU has always won at the Show when OSU is starting a new QB
1978 - Art Schlichter
2008 - Terrelle Pryor
2011- Braxton Miller
2019 - Tate Martell?

Re: Urban Meyer retiring
Urban Meyer is now, and always has been, a complete and total fraud.
Don't get me wrong, he wins games. Lots of wins, a few National Titles, and can recruit with the best of them. But his "aww shucks" demeanor and the facade that he has tried to build are incredibly transparent. His issues this year at OSU barely scratch the surface. Even a cursory overview of his time at Florida (and what followed his departure) tell you all you need to know about Urban and his character.
Not sure what his departure means for the Buckeyes: Does the well oiled machine keep chugging along under Ryan Day (it could be said that OSU played their best FB during Urban's absence this year) or does it start to slow and grind to a halt?
You'd have to think that recruiting prowess takes a dip (at least initially). Only time will tell on the other stuff.
But good riddance I say. CFB will be better without him, a fraud through and through.
Added bonus: Jim Harbaugh has never beaten Urban Meyer. Bwahahahaha.

As my daughter used to say. "Awwww, chucks."
Enjoy retirement and hope we can get a few of those recruits

Re: Urban Meyer retiring
Well given PSU just patched up our own glass house I generally stay out of the rock throwing business.
OSU is stacked talent wise for several years to come and I'd say if they keep the staff otherwise in tact they should be at the top of the top of the B1? for several years.
Agree with the assertion their continued success will depend on the ability of the new HC to continue to pull the same level of talent and make adjustments when there is staff attrition.

With Meyer retiring Franklin becomes 4th longest tenured coach in B1?

Re: Urban Meyer retiring
Urban didn't retire, he changed jobs. He is not lecturing at OSU!
His class is titled something like, Character & Leadership.
Remarkable, the arrogance never ends.

So I got that going for me...which is nice. It's a cross between Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent and Northern California Sensimilla so you can play 36 holes on it,take it home at night and get stoned to the begesses belt
