Citrus Bowl/Kentucky thread

Postby Blue&White » Wed Dec 05, 2018 1:25 pm

Penn State is an early 7 point favorite. I think you take PSU and give the points. Just because.

I have a friend who is a Kentucky grad. We've got a $50 bet on the game. We were going to bet a bottle of whiskey but he lives in Kentucky and the challenges of him being able to ship a bottle of booze to PA were suck that we just decided to make it an even $50 and promised that the winner would buy whiskey with it. I'm good with that.
Is it football season yet?

I would imagine all of our guys are playing, but there is a rumor that Kentucky's best defensive player may sit out to best prepare for the draft. Just a rumor at this point, but something that is becoming more common.

I'm in TN for work this week and talking to guys down here the word is if you can stop the run you can beat UK - that's a formula PSU has been successful with (Pitt, Wisc, MD, RU).

I'll be interested to see what underclassmen step up with the couple extra weeks of practice.

Tommy Stevens going to miss the game because of an unspecified surgery. He sure has a hard time staying healthy when he doesn't even play. I think that's one of the things we'll all miss about Trace next year.

Admittedly, I don't know much about Kentucky football. I am smart enough though to know they have a world renowned basketball team. With that said, for the life of me, I can't see a Trace going out on a sour note.

Penn State 38, Kentucky 20.

I think we'll win handily. Once we figure out their blocking schemes up front, we'll control the line of scrimmage and force them to pass. That would be a worst case for KY, as their QB isn't very good.
If at first you don't succeed, give up. There is no hope for you.

3 & out and a failed fake is not an auspicious start

Completely out of sync on offense and special teams.

...followed by another 3 & out. But whoa what a punt at least.

Fake punt the ball was dropped or he would have gotten the first down? Still not a good call.

Poor snap on the Field Goal, nice punt though.
