Saban really pulled a few "Franklins" in that game. Even the elite aren't immune.

Glad I'm not a betting man, I would have a lost a lot of money on that game. I really thought Bama was head and shoulders better than anyone else this year, guess I was dead wrong.

It probably wasn't indicative of how good each team was. Some times one team brings their "A" game and the other team brings their "C" game and you get what happened last night. But it wasn't a total fluke, either. Clemson is a really scary team. Big, fast, well-coached ... the whole package.

I thought Clemson would win.

Something I found interesting during the game was that Clemson never put their QB under center during " x and short" situations despite having a good o-line, big QB and good RB. Quite similar to our philosophy. Doesn't make it "smart" per se, but I like knowing that our approach isn't something stupid that only we do. In fact, the national champions do it too!!!

I thought the game would be a blowout. I just picked the wrong team.

Anyway I turned off Sports Center after I saw a the headlines for an upcoming segment..."How does this loss effect Nick Saban's career?"

Really? One bad loss and his legacy is now being questioned? It was one bad night in an otherwise brilliant career. Bad days and nights happen to all of us at some point.

Holy Cheese Fries.
