Georgia State Pre-Game

Postby Crowbar » Mon Sep 11, 2017 10:12 am

I'll admit I don't know much about Georgia State other than they are a relatively new D1 team. At least this game should help their athletic department budget significantly.

I see another shutout on the horizon.

Penn State 49, Georgia State 0.

I hate this game. It's going to show us nothing. It's not going to give us any opportunity to correct some of the issues that were exposed against Pitt. I do hope they use this to try to run between the tackles and work on keeping the pocket up longer. Some of the basics should get a workout. But, this is going to be a blow out.

so, once again.....

Penn State has opened as a 38.5-point favorite. It's pretty safe to predict a massacre this week. There are cupcakes ... and then there are monster cupcakes smothered in icing. This is a monster cupcake.

This isn't a great match up but I understand why it happened. It was scheduled a few years ago before the sanctions were reduced. PSU was looking for a guaranteed win. Keep in mind this would have only been the second year they would have even been eligible for a bowl game and the scholarship sanctions would have still been in effect.

I want to see Barkley run for 300 yards. Run, run, and more running the ball.

PSU was looking for a guaranteed win.

They found it. :D

The opening "money line" (simply picking the winner) on Penn Sate is -49500. That means you have to wager $49,500 to win $100. That means Georgia State has roughly the same chance of winning as the NY Jets have of winning the Superbowl ... i.e., none for all practical purposes.

I'd like to see Barkley get 300 yards on 4 carries and then take a seat. You hope this game gets reps for 2nd line guys to strengthen depth and it would be nice to see McS get back in sync with WRs.

PSU shouldn't have to worry ...... now Matt Rhule and Baylor - this would be a must win game.

I know he's only 2 games into his Baylor career, but Jeebus, what a rough start, to say the least. Even in the Longhorns weakened state, losing to them is one thing. But UT-San Antonio? Holy you know what. That has to have him asking if leaving Temple was a good idea.

It goes without saying I am aware of what happened at PSU. But at least they have the tradition and other factors that helped them climb out of the dumps. You can't say the same for Baylor. That is now a place where coaching careers will die.

That UTSA loss was coming off a loss to Liberty - that's right the Jerry Falwell college
