Wife works for PSU and faculty was allowed to attend yesterday’s practice with one guest. Here are my observations (from an untrained eye):
They can say otherwise, but Clifford is the #1 Qb. On this day he was decisive and leading the “talk”. Right now Levis is a lot like Tommy Stevens in that he would rather run someone over than avoid contact.
Justin Shorter is FAST. Not news but Hamler is crazy quick.
Other than Friermuth, TEs has a lot of drops.
For the most part, defense was on opposite side of the field and didn’t see much other than 7 on 7s they ran late in practice. In those drills Wade continues to struggle on coverage. Got beat deep by Hamler where Clifford threw a great ball and got beat by Shorter but the QB threw to short man.
Franklin was stressing playing to the whistle and took Micah Parsons off the field for repeatedly not doing that. Franklin was intentionally blowing whistle late to prove to them to continue to play, but he wasn’t getting it.
On this day, Katsir was running second team linebacker, but not sure one of the freshman won’t overtake him as the season goes.
RBs are short. Probably starter in Slade is only 5-9. Lot of quickness and talent in this group though.
He can be inconsistent, but in this day, Blake Gilliken was hitting bombs. Whoever was #98 was the best field goal kicker. Hitting the ball over the net and made every kick.
All in all it was a fun experience and hope to do it again next year if they offer it up.

Glad to hear that Charlie Katshir is making a run at getting some playing time. Very talented, smart, versatile athlete and outstanding young man. Appears that he's beefed up in the past year to play linebacker.
Yeah, well, that's like your opinion, man.
