Franklin Quote of the WEEK:

Franklin suggested an option for fans who say they don’t have anything white to wear. “You have bleach,” he said.

CJF is all over this this week. One cat tweeted him asking if he could wear a blue shirt under the white. He replies simply, “No.”

I thought that was great!

I'm as staunch a Paterno acolyte as there is...but Franklin's just more fun. The guy absolutely has it all together, right now.

That said, if you're gonna be a bit cocky, the boys better show up to play...

Franklin has the ability to get EVERYONE engaged! This is something that makes the atmosphere electric and everyone excited! I haven't seen this kind of juice flowing around campus in a long time! Every activity is WHITE - every student is pumped - the players are quietly confident and ready. We all have been waiting for this...this atmosphere...Penn State football is fun again!

I think Paterno was a more engaging, personable guy early in his career - when the team struggled in the early 2000s and as he aged I think it just was too much for him (especially when you consider all the demands for his time outside of coaching). He simply stayed on too long.

CJF is the right guy for this time period and hopefully we are catching a coach who is about to enter the high point of his career.

We Are, how accurate has this model been in the past? I hope it’s right, but I will be shocked if we score 31.

I went back and looked at the models for the last 4 games and it has been within 7pts on the picks - at least for us. This score is based on Vegas's assessment of the teams versus the spread. Vegas has a real issue with Michigan's offense not scoring points.

My personal opinion is that the way to 31 points - is we jump on them early and we get 2 scores directly as a result of the D. Michigan is in no way built to score from behind.

So, the model as been pretty accurate, based on the head to head match-up. That accounts for nothing but the raw numbers / stats.
