Now have to pull pretty hard for Rutgers to beat Purdue. That would mean beating Rutgers to make the finals.

Nice effort. Purdue was just a better team.

NIT it is. Hopefully a springboard for the NCAA's next year, though that doesn't always play out. Can't have any losses to the Rider's of the world next year. And no Shep Garner - a couple of guys have to step up their play.

I think this year was a missed opp'y w/ the BiG having a down year.

I think Chambers only has a year left on contract - do you extend him? If you don't that could make recruiting difficult and if I you do you may just be extending the inevitable.

But agree with 92 - with the weak OOC schedule and Wisky, Maryland and Minnesota all having down years this was a missed opportunity for breakthrough season.

The OOC schedule was truly disgraceful. It's way different than football. You gotta schedule more than one quality opponent if you're not a perennial big dance contender.

If they beat ND than I think it's a sign they are closer than maybe most think.

That said, some indication Tony Carr and Mike Watkins may leave for pro ball after the season. Not sure what to make of that - I've seen both play a bit and don't think either is ready for prime time. Then again, Watkins has had academic issues, so might be happy to settle for collecting a paycheck overseas.

I hope so. Watching the big dance would be a lot more fun if they were perineal participants. The tournament is cool, even if I have a meh attitude towards it.
