Have a real issue with Clemson. Other than that, we are where we should be. Just an FYI, only one team in the initial ranking top 4, has remained in the final top 4 over the past 3 years. I can see Clemson, Oklahoma and ND losing a game.

The 3 teams behind Clemson all lost to teams in the top 20. Clemson lost to a 4 - 4 Syracuse team. How is it possible they are ranked ahead of the Sooners, OSU and us?

I'm ok with Oklahoma and OSU being in front of us and am glad Oklahoma is in front of OSU. The Sooners beat OSU. OSU beat us. That order makes sense. But, how does Clemson get in there? That's completely ridiculous.

There's a silver lining here. If Clemson's position somehow screws Ohio State out of the top 4 come playoff time, I'm all for it. We have little or no chance of sneaking in anyhow. At this point I'm happy to play cards that favor shafting the suckeyes as opposed to giving us a longshot playoff berth.

Chaos abounds in college football in November. While it doesn't look great for PSU to make the playoffs, there are always head scratching losses during the final month of conference play. I heard last night that even though Clemson has the worst loss of the 1 loss teams in the top 10, they also have the best strength of schedule. I don't know if that's correct, just reporting what was said last night.

Clemson plays 4 ranked teams. They beat #13 Auburn 14-6, #14 Louisville 47-21, #12 Virginia Tech 31-17 and play #20 NC State this Sat. They lost to a 4-4 Syracuse team. How they rate above any 7-1 team is beyond me. Oh wait, the ACC must be relevant because they are a power 5 conference, and it would look bad for the CFP not to have them represented???

What 7 - 1 team is the best is somewhat subjective. Based on head to head play, OU, OSU and PSU are in the right order. You can't argue about that. But, the Clemson thing is just a guess. And, given that they lost to a crappy Syracuse team, I think it's a bad guess.

But, to JC's point, if it helps keep OSU out of the final four, then I am all for it.

Ciaos rules in November in College football. Like I stated before, the odds of more than 1 team that is now in the top 4 making the final top 4 are 22%. Based off the past 3 seasons. Georgia has the best conference schedule until Alabama in the SEC Championship game. So who knows - I would be willing to bet Clemson loses before the ACC Champ game. They may not accept anyone from the ACC. I personally want to see ND go down and I do not care who does it, although I think Miami maybe the only team with a legit shot. This week against Wake might be interesting.

Irony - tOSU's signature win is against us...

Has Syracuse improved? I haven't followed them and just realized they had a new coach. Our rivalry with Syracuse was very big in the 50's and 60's but seemed to reduce in the 70's and beyond. Now it nothing and we never play them anymore. The days of Lenny Moore and Jim Brown are gone.

Clemson: defending Nat'l Champs. Not much else needs to be said.

They'd be a hell of a good matchup for us in a bowl game, if it came to it. Their D-line is Ohio State good.
If at first you don't succeed, give up. There is no hope for you.
