I am rooting for him too. Still hope the Giants, Cowboys and Redskins all go 0-16 though.

Barkley runs for 68 yard TD.
He had this run and he had a swing pass he caught in stride that went for 12 or so yards where he looked very formidable. Otherwise, he looked very average most of the game. Jacksonville bottled him up most of the day and he had challenges keeping his feet moving forward. The line didn't give him much help for the majority fo the game, but when you're the #2 pick in the draft you are expected to make opportunities, not wait for them to be given to you. He certainly did that on the TD run but that was really it.
It's one game. It was rainy and pretty raw out. Tough to take much away from it and the Giants in general looked very medicore on offense. Their offensive line just isn't up to the task. Hopefully he has a lot more runs like that one, though. If the Giants can get him and Beckham moving, their offense can be pretty good. The line just needs to step up.

I would also add that Jacksonville has one of, if not the best defenses in the NFL.

Jax is a good team and their defense is really good but the Giants did not seem to have a great game plan. Throwing short passes on 3rd and long all the time was a bad move. They had Barkley open in the flat a few times with some running room and they didn't really throw many screens. They also had a few dropped balls which killed them. The frustration is the Giants lost a winnable game.
But, from a Barkley perspective, it was frustrating for me. That TD showed what he can do. He needs to keep driving forward, though. He hadn't played much this summer. He was a bit rusty. I think he will be fine. Hopefully the Giants can build on the positives and play themselves into the postseason.

He looked a little flabby to me. He needs to hit the weight room.

I concur that statement. He needs to make sure he stays running north and south. He could run east and west in college but that isn't going to happen in the NFL
