Yeah, glad they found it before it was too late. Best wishes to him.

On another note, just 9 weeks until App State comes to the Beav to get a thorough beat down.

No Michigan style upset here. 8-)

Rumor has it that former ND running back CJ Holmes is coming to Penn State as a walk-on. He got into trouble for shoplifting and was kicked off the ND team. He has a sister attending PSU who will be receiving a track scholarship. He will have 3 years of eligibility remaining.

Apparently he's now enrolled at PSU as a student. I guess the question is will Franlin give him a shot. I don't know much about him. Anyone have any insight?

From what I read, he MAY be able to earn a scholie after next year. Sounds like JF is giving him a chance. I believe Joe gave Ingram a chance after a similar incident. These kids are young and sometimes f up. If it happens again, hang him out to dry. Until then let's give the kid a break. It may be what he needs to turn his life around. Hope he is smart enough to take advantage of this opportunity.

Sad news. Per 247 Sports former QB Sean Schellenger was stabbed to death in Philly during a traffic altercation on Thursday. He played for PSU in 2000. :(

Rene Portland dead of cancer.

Controversial end to her coaching career, but she had a solid track record of success unmatched since her termination.

RIP.

Wow. That sucks. Just checked and she was only 65.

RIP, Coach Portland.

I just read on another site that it was 6 years ago today that the NCAA sanctions were announced. Hard to believe where PSU is right now given the feeling I had that day and how long it would take to even be relevant again.

6 years already. Wow. Time really flies. But, that sounds about right. The whole thing blew up in November 2011. Joe died in January 2012. The Freeh report was released sometime over the summer of 2012. So, yes, late July 2012 - 6 years ago, sounds about right.

Btw, my memory of that is not Emmert's PC and his sanctions. I erased that from my mind. What I remember is Mike Mauti defiantly telling the world that he's not going anywhere and he and the players were not going to take the blame for something they had absolutely nothing to do with.

Mauti and company made a principled stand that will be their legacy. I hold those men in the highest esteem.
